Fine Geo III mahogany and brass mounted quarter chiming bracket clock.
The round enamel dial with a rare centre sweep calendar dial is signed John Tilby London. Mercurial gilt brass hands, blued steel wavy calendar hand. The superb three train fusee movement with six pillars is substantial, chiming the quarters on eight bells and striking the hour on a further bell. Anchor escapement, border engraved backplate and a strike-silent function.
The figured mahogany case of lovely faded colour with single brass bound pad to the break arch top. Brass flame finial. Pierced and engraved brass frets above and below the dial, brass bezel with convex glass. Brass carrying handles to the sides with brass frets below and brass ogee bracket feet.
