Fine George III mahogany bracket clock. The brass break arch dial with silvered chapter dial signed Chas. Howse London, silvered subsidiary strike-silent dial to the arch, foliate spandrels and blued steel hands. The double fusee movement with verge escapement has an engraved backplate. Striking the hours on a bell with trip repeat.
The flame figured mahogany case has three raised pads with concave mouldings to the break arch with brass carrying handle, fine mouldings to the front door, glazed sides and brass pad feet.
Charles Howse was a member of the Clockmakers Company from 1761-1804.
