Small English ebonised library mantel clock, the shaped top with applied carving and bevelled glass to sides. The square silvered dial signed Barraud & Lund, Cornhill, London and numbered 1589 with engraved corner spandrels. Blued steel hands. Substantial eight day chain and fusee movement with anchor escapement signed on the backplate.

This firm was founded by the well known chronometer maker Paul Philip Barraud at Cornhill, London in about 1795. It became Barraud & Lund when John Richard Lund became a partner in 1838. The business was closed in 1929.
